When does the pension end on death?

If an insured person who is already receiving retirement benefits dies, his or her pension entitlement expires in the month of death. However, if a spouse or partner remains, a widow’s or widower’s pension can be claimed. If your deceased spouse was not yet receiving a pension, your widow’s or widower’s pension starts on the day of death.
