Is there a pension insurance obligation for the self-employed?

For certain occupational groups, self-employed people are already obliged to pay into the pension fund or certain pension schemes. Regardless of the legal situation, everyone should consider it their duty to provide for their old age. Since it is assumed that the obligation will be extended to all self-employed persons, one should act now to secure the currently higher maximum interest rate in pension contracts. This will be reduced from 0.9% to 0.25% on 1 January 2022.
