What is the highest statutory pension?

In order to calculate how high the maximum pension in the statutory pension insurance can be, it is important to understand how the pension is calculated. The pension is calculated by multiplying the number of earning points by the value of one earning point.  Up to 2.05 points can currently be earned each year, with a current value of €34.19 (as of 2021). A full pension can be drawn after 45 years of contributions without deductions.

For the year 2021, the following calculation results:

45 contribution years x 2.05 earning points = 92.25 earning points
92.25 earning points x 34.19€ = 3154.03€ maximum statutory pension to be achieved (as of 2021)
