How high is the average pension in Germany?

According to the SPS, the average monthly pension for men in Germany in 2019 was 1,139 euros in the old federal states and 1,212 euros in the new federal states. Women received significantly less pension: in the old federal states, their average pension was just 710 euros, while in the new federal states it was 1,023 euros. However, pensions will be increased in the summer of 2022. Pensioners in the old federal states will then get 5.2 per cent more, pensioners in the new federal states 5.9 per cent.
